Question: can you make a custom 3/4 size 22" scale guitar and have it headless?

Answer: YES!

Customer had some additional questions and context:

"I've never seen anyone do it before. Do you see any tuning problems etc. What price estimate for this. Trying to get this for my good pal's birthday who loves 3/4 guitars."

Well, we've never seen it done before either, except this "neck guitar" we built a while back, which came kind of close...

Regarding the tuning stability, it would be the same as that of any other 22” scale guitar, which is not great due to the low string tension. It would be best to stabilize the tuning and intonation by using heavy gauge strings, probably 13s or 14s at least.

Regarding pricing, it would probably be around $3000, but detailed pricing is available on our Guitar Customization Tool here:

To configure a 3/4 size 22" scale headless guitar on the Halo Guitar Customization Tool, do the following:

  1. go here: https://www.haloguitars.com/store/custom-guitars.html
  2. load any preset
  3. click body shape
  4. click the headless tab at the top of the window
  5. select headless body shape of your choice
  6. type in 3/4 size body and 22" short scale into the Special Instructions text box (because we don't currently have those options selectable in the Tool, but we are happy to accommodate them)

Enjoy!
