This week we're shining the spotlight on Randy Roswell of the band Brighter Than a Thousand Suns (BTATS) from North Carolina.

Randy uses a Halo MERUS-7 with Bare Knuckle Juggernaut pickups and an Evertune bridge.

We caught up with Randy recently... check out his responses below:

Q: How did you discover Halo Custom Guitars?

A: I was searching for a guitar that had all the features I wanted and stumbled upon Halo. They were the only company with an aesthetic I could get behind and an affordability that I could be comfortable with. I wanted something unique that didn't look "off the shelf" or something you'd find at Guitar Center. It worked out great.

Q: What model do you play and own?

A: I own a Merus 7 with an Evertune bridge, a 27" baritone scale and Bare Knuckle Juggernauts.

Q: Who or what inspires you musically/what are your influences?

A: I'm heavily influenced by Alex Lifeson of Rush. His choice of arpeggios and chord structures made a big impact on me growing up. Others are John Petrucci/early Dream Theater, Underoath, Depeche Mode, Northlane, Anberlin, Sevendust, Tears for Fears and tons of others. It's all over the map.

Q: Tell us about your particular Halo guitar!

A: At the time I found Halo, I was meaning to get into a pair of Bare Knuckle pickups and the Merus 7 had that option along with the super long scale length. I tune very low (down to Low F) and the baritone scale really helps with that as does the Evertune. I'm very particular with intonation and tuning, so the Evertune takes care of all my concerns in that regard. I also really like the bird's eye maple fretboard - it adds a touch of elegance.

Q: Any future musical plans you are working on? What's next for you and your Halo?

A: We just released a new EP in November called "Rebirth" and we plan on releasing more singles in the months to come. The Halo will make it to all those recordings for sure! Check it out on Spotify and YouTube!
